Motorola Inc and Japan’s NEC Corp have won orders for base stations and other equipment to build Japanese cellphone operator KDDI Corp’s next-generation mobile network, the three firms said on Thursday. KDDI, Japan’s second-largest mobile phone operator after NTT DoCoMo Inc has said it would spend roughly 500 billion yen ($5.30 billion) on its “Long Term Evolution” technology.
