Google uses Tivo to Monitor Your Viewing Habits

Google has signed a deal with TiVo to col­lect anonymized data about user habits. Own­ers of Web-​​connected TiVo DVRs often fast-​​forward through most com­mer­cials while watch­ing the pro­grams they record, but some ads do man­age to catch eye­balls. That infor­ma­tion could be a resource to adver­tis­ers using Google’s TV Ads service.
